Meet Allen Brown

Allen Brown is a lifelong member of the Washington community, a local business owner, and a dedicated public servant committed to the continued growth and success of our city.

He is the son of Dennis “Jerry” Brown and the late Cathy Brown, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and putting others first. Those values continue to guide Allen in both his personal life and his approach to leadership.

Together, they are proud parents of two sons, Brooks and his wife Bri, and Julian “JJ” Brown and his wife Kendra. They are also very proud grandparents to their granddaughter, Cohen. Their deep family roots in Washington are a constant reminder of what’s at stake and why building a strong future for the next generation matters.

In addition to his public service, Allen currently serves as the IT Director at Midwest Natural Gas, bringing a modern, technology-driven perspective to local government. He believes in using technology to improve how the city communicates, shares information, and stays connected with residents—while still remaining true to the values and traditions that make Washington special.

As the owner of Big Al’s Place, Allen understands firsthand what it takes to build something from the ground up. He’s has served families, and built strong relationships throughout the community. His experience running a small business has given him a practical, results-driven mindset—focused on budgeting responsibly, supporting local businesses, and making decisions that benefit the entire community.

Allen currently serves on the Washington City Council, where he has worked to represent the voice of the people. He believes leadership isn’t about personal agendas—it’s about listening, learning, and making thoughtful decisions that reflect the needs and values of the community.

Throughout his time in public service, Allen has been focused on smart, responsible growth. He believes in attracting new opportunities while protecting the quality of life that makes Washington a great place to live, work, and raise a family. He is committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and ensuring that growth benefits all residents—not just a select few.

Allen’s approach is simple: put the community first, make informed decisions, and plan for the long term.

He is running for Mayor to bring strong leadership, common-sense solutions, and a clear vision for Washington’s future.

Committed to Washington’s Growth.
